Hi Parents and Caregivers,
Your children have brought home a form for you to review and sign.
Garfiled Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) would like to create a directory of your email and contact information for our room parent coordinators to disseminate PTO related events, projects and notifications. By giving permission to the PTO, you are allowing the Garfield PTO to list you in the directory and send you email notifications and website updates. If you don’t have email and would like to share your phone number you may do that as well. The only information you will receive will be pertinent to the PTO. Information pertaining to classroom events will still come from your teachers directly through classroom newsletter. Your email address & or phone number will not be shared.
In the interest of limiting costs affiliated with printing, and eliminating classroom time spent on distribution of material, and to make a conscious effort to limit paper use, the Garfield PTO will try to operate more as a paperless organization.
Thank you fro your support.
Please choose to ALLOW the PTO to contact you via email or phone and to receive update notifications from our Garfield PTO website, keeping you informed of all PTO information.

NEW PTO
New Parent-Teacher Organization for Garfield!
The new PTO, created in 2010, is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to enriching the experience of every student, teacher and parent at Garfield Elementary School. We try to help the school in any way we can, whether by designing new projects, or volunteering in the classroom, or obtaining the equipment and supplies that our teachers need, or raising funds to support enrichment programs like art, field trips, athletics, and technology.
Parents, our school needs your energy, skills, and ideas! If you’d like to get involved, even if you can volunteer just one hour of your time, please let us know. As the San Francisco public schools face some of their largest budget cuts in the history of the District, the involvement of our parent community is all the more valuable. Together we can make Garfield an even better place for our kids.
